Final month left to complete your 2022/23 MOT Annual Training

Final month left to complete your 2022/23 MOT Annual Training

MOT Annual Training

Testers must complete their 2022/23 MOT Annual Training and pass the online assessment by the end of this month, or they will be suspended from testing. If your testers need last-minute support, 6 last-minute training options are available  at the RMI Academy of Automotive Skills to ensure that all testers can confidently complete their requirements and keep their tester status.

Latest DVSA statistics show that nearly half testers still haven’t met their requirements, so we recommend booking your preferred training option as soon as possible to avoid the last-minute rush and secure a training date where required. Packages range from face-to-face training at your garage premises or an RMI Academy venue, to remote learning either online or in a physical workbook.

This year’s assessment pass mark remains at 80%, but due to the wide scope of the assessment syllabus we advise testers to ensure they complete their training and assessment as early as possible to accommodate potential re-takes.

The 2022/23 topics for group B (cars) are:

  • Managing your MTS Account and MOT Annual Training
  • Brake Test Procedures
  • MOT Test Procedures
  • The MOT Inspection Manual for cars and passenger vehicles

The 2022/23 topics for group A (motorcycles) are:

  • Managing your MTS Account and MOT Annual Training
  • Brake Test Procedures
  • MOT Test Procedures
  • The MOT Inspection Manual for motorcycles

You can browse our training options below, or for more information about the annual assessment you can visit All options include access to the online assessment included in their cost, unless specified.

Regional Training Events

The RMI is continuing to hold Regional MOT Training Events throughout the country for testers who prefer face-to-face training in their local area.

Our final three-hour training this year will cover the 2022/23 MOT annual training syllabus; however, the online assessment will then need to be completed in your own time:
