Q. We are having trouble finding the cause of an overheating issue on a 2013 Citroën C-Elysée 1.6 HDi. We found the radiator had leaked so we replaced it but the vehicle has returned and has a leak in the same area. All of the coolant hoses seem to be OK. Can you help?

A.Yes, we have heard of this issue affecting 1.6 HDi engines with engine code 9HP (DV6DTED4) up to 14/03/14 (RPO13628). The engine coolant blower motor cowling chafes against the radiator causing a coolant leak. Remove the lugs from the engine coolant blower motor cowling to leave a smooth surface (fig. 1.). Replace the radiator if necessary.
